Scratchboard Illustrations: Amazing Art from Various Artists

Scratchboard or Scraperboard was invented in the 19th Century.  It’s a technique in which artists create drawings using tools and sharp knives to etch into a thin layer of white clay or chalk topped with a fine coat of black India ink.  During that time this form of illustration quickly became the favorite medium among many artists.
