Logos are the single most important entity that make your company recognizable to people. This small design is used to identify a brand and set it apart from competitors. The main purpose of a logo is to leave a mark in the viewers mind and make it unforgettable. Logos must evoke a sense of trust and respect in the viewer. It is important to remember that a logo is merely a signature or a sign to help consumers identify a particular name. Logos do not sell products, they only create an identity.
Relevance of company names and products in logo designing
The gravity of a logo is also dependant on what it represents. This means that merely designing an impressive logo will not make it effective. Expert designers also suggest that a logo need not directly convey a company’s name or products. Several successful brands like Nike, McDonald’s or ABC TV have logos that do not contain graphics or texts relevant to the company but are very memorable because of effective use of design, color schemes, marketing and brand authority.
Simple and enduring
The most successful brands have logos that follow a few simple principles. Logos should be simple, appropriate, unique and timeless. People find it easier to recognize simple designs than elaborate brushwork. Creating a brand identity with a logo takes a long time and that’s why you should ensure that the logo has a long life span. Follow recent trends to make sure that your logo is unique and long lasting.
Color and typography
The typography and color scheme used in the logo should also be in accordance with the company. For example, it would be inappropriate to use bubbly fonts and a rainbow color scheme when designing a logo for an insurance company or a law firm. Similarly, using elegant font or dull colors will not make for an effective logo of a toy store.
Versatility
Another important aspect to consider while designing a logo is its versatility. Ensure that the logo will look great when it is printed in monochromatic schemes or inverted colors. The logo should also look good in various sizes, whether it is on a business card or a billboard. Experts suggest that designers start designing the logo in black and white and then add colors when the final design has been approved. As colors are subjective and evoke different emotions in different viewers, it is best to keep it simple and universal.

I admire artists that create logos, beside talented they are also very clever
thanks for the inspiration list!
Some great logos and some even greater logos. I love the simplicity of and at times complexity of these designs. I would be extremely proud to have these in my book.
