3D CAD Design with Solidworks
Industrial Design, by definition, is the creation and development of concepts and specifications aimed at optimizing the functions, value, and appearance of products, structures, and systems for the benefit of both user and manufacturer.
Today more and more designers and mechanical engineers in the world are moving towards 3D CAD technology (including solid modeling), as a natural transition from conventional 2D systems, because of the multiple benefits associated with designing in a 3D environment. It seems that the advantages of 3D CAD are either not accepted or not understood by product development companies since many have stuck to 2D CAD systems.
